Go Equal
Whose equality?

Go Equal is organized in collaboration with local voluntary associations and free action groups. The essential target is to highlight equality related issues from different angles. The basic principle of the event is working together in a positive way. Our wish is open-minded attitude towards dissimilarity and the abandoning the tyrannical stereotypes. Everyone should have the same rights and opportunities despite the different backgrounds and that´s what equality is all about!

Program:
Workshops at 10.00-17.00
Vessel center (Koulukatu 24 B 2)

Dance workshop at 10.00- 11.00

Welcome to the dance class which is open to everyone. The movement of an own body is explored by improvisation exercises. The dancing in the workshop is based on the starting point of ones own, physical disabilities wont be an obstacle and no precious dancing experience is required.

 

Time bank discussion at 11.15-12.00
Tuomas Järvenpää
Meeting for all interested in the principles of time bank. Through the time bank you may get help for the daily chores in your own neighborhood. The principle is, that the skills and help is shared within the community without prejudices – the only prise and means of ehance is the time.The possibilities of time bank in Joensuu is discussed in the workshop. Preliminary plans are made in order to orgaice a local group and its actions.

What ”word” whose voice? -Zine workshop at 14.00-17.00

By adopting the principles of language we reclaim the right to state our opinions freely. Dispite that there is plenty of keepers in the gates of thinking. The meaningful is not only the message and the reciter but also where and how the message is said. In Go Equal – zine workshop the writing is processed in and from the margin and the mechanisms how to break or maintain the boundaries of your own whit the act of writing.

The text origin from the workshop is used in order to put together an own Go Equal zine. Tiitu Takalo tells the premises of zine-magazines and directs the making of the Zine.
